Location: Southampton Office
Team: People & Culture (part of the Operations Team)
Contract Type: Permanent / Full time
Salary: £20,000 - £23,000 (Dependant on experience)

Are you looking to start your career in HR? We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our People & Culture Team as a People Assistant. This role is ideal for someone beginning their journey in HR, with the potential to progress via an apprenticeship route following successful completion of the probationary period.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our People Assistant, you’ll provide essential support across the full employee lifecycle, helping to deliver a smooth and professional experience for our people. Your responsibilities will include:

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Coordinating and undertaking new starter inductions and welcome packs.
  • Managing onboarding documentation and systems.
  • Handling leaver processes and exit interviews.

Training & Development

  • Booking external seminars and webinars.
  • Supporting CPD and training plan creation.
  • Arranging leadership and continuing competence training.

Recruitment & Work Experience

  • Supporting the Talent Acquisition team with interview coordination and applicant tracking when required.
  • Managing work experience placements and CSR event participation.

Employee Records & Systems

  • Maintaining accurate records in the People system.
  • Logging absences, holidays, flexi-time, and benefits.
  • Preparing offer letters, contracts, and other employment documentation.

Trainees & Apprentices

  • Scheduling reviews and managing documentation.
  • Supporting the annual trainee recruitment process.

General Support

  • Responding to employee queries.
  • Assisting with maternity leave, DBS checks, GDPR audits, and Lexcel inspection prep.
  • Contributing to Learning & Development initiatives.
